Presentation (8.5/10)

Clean. Delicate. Smooth, with a flourish of frosting topping each slice. The frosting lines, although there, are clean, evenly-spaced, and add to the aesthetic. All four layers are clearly visible. Large. Daunting. A little too big. Definitely a cake to share … maybe.

Texture (9/10)

Smooth, few crunches, firmness from the fig addition, frosting is firm and adds a silky touch to the mouthfeel.

Frosting (10/10)

Perfect. Not too sweet, can taste the cream cheese tang, firm and structural, but melts in your mouth. No grittiness at all. Silky. Wow.

Composition (7.5/10)

Figs add without overwhelming the carrot — though the carrot flavour is not the most prominent. Moist. The frosting takes center stage here. Slightly too much frosting with respect to positioning. Lots of cake, but there is slightly too much frosting on the outer layer.

Taste (8.5/10)

Delicious. The frosting and cake layers compliment and blend beautifully. Slightly lacking in carrot flavour.
