Presentation (7/10)

Round cake. White chocolate flakes on top. Four layers of cake separated by cream cheese frosting. Cream cheese frosting on top and back. Back covered in crushed walnuts. Walnuts, pineapple, and carrot visible in cake. Came in plastic container, easily crushed.

Texture (3/10)

Inconsistent texture. Some areas had too much pineapple and walnuts and other areas had little to none. Lacks moisture in some areas. Bit dry.

Frosting (3/10)

Top frosting had very little “tang” from the cream cheese, and none in all middle layers. Suspect custard or buttercream in middle layer frosting.

Composition (2/10)

Related to texture. Inconsistent application of walnuts. Walnut chunks too large. Pineapple too hard and chunky, and needed to be dispersed better. Too much frosting-to-cake ratio as the middle layers contributed to the frosting overwhelming all other flavours. Difficult to observe the more subtle flavours due to composition. Carrot pieces too small.

Taste (3/10)

Walnut flavour overpowers carrot flavour. Middle frosting starts to overpower all other flavour profiles of the cake.
